The Met Ball 2009

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Gala is the Oscars of the fashion-world. It is at this time that fashion-savvy celebrities, supermodels and designers come together, dressed in fabulous clothing, to celebrate the launch of the Met's latest exhibit.

This year's theme was the Models as Muse: Embodying Fashion, and was hosted by Marc Jacobs, Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, and Anna Wintour.

The guests wore their best suits and gowns, and some of them made more daring fashion choices: Kate Moss sported a gold lame turban, Rihanna wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit, and Madonna turned heads in her Louis Vuitton ensemble, bunny ears and everything.

The Gossip Girls, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester didn't do to well on their fashion choices, with Lively's teal Versace dress with its high-cut slit up the side, and Meester's floral Vuitton emsemble. Blair and Serena would be disgusted.

Agyness Deyn resembled Marilyn Monroe with a short blonde bob and a silver Burberry gown, and Heidi Klum's very pregnant physique was extremely noticeable in her J. Mendel dress, even though it was meant to hide the bump.

Here are some of the most memorable looks of the night!

The theme this year for the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition is Models as Muse: Embodying Fashion.

The exhibit will explore how models have changed fashion by inspiring the designers who've dressed them, and sometimes designed for them, through seventy looks handpicked from the Costume Institute's collection.

It begins May 4th, with the annual big party, and will be co-chaired by Marc Jacobs, Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, and Anna Wintour.

Can't wait to see it, or don't have access to get to the Met? Here is a preview of the exhibit:

Angelina's back!

Image via bittenandbound.com

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt stepped out onto the red carpet for the premiere of Angelina's new movie, Changeling.

Angelina looked beautiful in her strapless Versace dress, which showed off her amazing figure. She also had two new tattoos on her arm, marking the latitute and longitude coordinates of where her twins, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, were born. These tattoos accompany the four others on her arm, representing her four other children.

But with that body...can you believe it's only been three months since the twins were born?

I have to say, she does look pretty exhasuted though...with six kids, it's hard to believe that Brangelina still want more.

Obviously they're fully equipped with nannies, and are able to support their family financially, but do they really need to add more to their clan?

I heart Versace...

And Versace loves hearts, which was evident when Donatella placed 3-D hearts throughout her Spring 2009 collection. Although there was no distinct theme, the collection was true to Versace's signature style: sexy, glamorous, and fierce.

Chace Crawford for Versace?

Rumours are swirling that Gossip Girl star, Chace Crawford will be the new face of Versace. The 23-year-old is said to be close to signing a deal to replace Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy, who's contract will be ending in 2009.

The Italian fashion house has released a statement noting that Chace has worn clothes from the company to three big recent events: Fashion Rocks, the MTV VMAs, and at his Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively's 21st birthday party.

In response to this rumour a spokesperson from Versace has said, "We have been working hard to develop our relationship with Chace - and that is all we can say on the subject. Patrick Dempsey is contracted with us through to Spring/Summer 2009. It is undetermined who will replace him at this time."
