Scarlett Johansson for Mango

Spanish-based fashion chain, Mango, has announced that Scarlett Johansson is the new face of its fall/winter 09/10 ad campaign.

She will be taking the place of Penélope Cruz, who worked four seasons with the brand.

Mango described Johansson as a woman with an "extraordinary personality" as well as "fun, young." They also said, "She's Mango's ideal urban woman, independent and cosmopolitan."

Images for the upcoming campaign were shot in Los Angeles by Mario Sorrenti.

The launch date has yet to be confirmed.

Freida Pinto: new fashion icon?

Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto seems to be establishing herself as a budding fashionista!

The 24-year-old recently walked down Dolce & Gabbana's runway during fashion week in Milan along with A-listers Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes.

Now, she's taking Paris by storm.

Wearing a white Chanel cocktail dress adorned by layered chains, the actress stole the spotlight from Kate Moss and Lily Allen, who were seated front row along with Pinto at Chanel's Fall 2009 RTW show.

The Slumdog beauty is already rumoured to be the new spokesperson for beauty brand, Estée Lauder, but I suspect partnerships with top designers will happen very soon.

Scarlett Johnasson for Dolce & Gabbana

Actress Scarlett Johansson will be the face of the new Dolce & Gabanna line of cosmetics.

“Scarlett is sure of herself. She’s a beautiful girl, but she’s really easygoing. She is very Dolce & Gabbana,” the Italian designing duo said.

“We see makeup as another thing for women, like a dress. We worked on the makeup line like we work on a clothing collection — you can change makeup like you can change your clothes, depending on your mood,” Stefano Gabbana told WWD on Friday.

The collection will include lipsticks scented with rose.

“We wanted to create makeup with a scent," said Gabbana. "Domenico and I remember when we were children and opened our mother’s handbags — the scent of her lipstick trailed out. I observed that when women open makeup, they smell it first.

Johansson was recently photographed for a series of Marilyn Monroe-inspired print ads (see above) that will debut in magazines later this year.

The collection itself will launch this Spring, with prices ranging from $20 for nail polish to $59 for powder foundation.
