Anna Sui rips off her own looks for her new Target collection

If you had a feeling that Anna Sui's latest collection for Target looked slightly familiar, and not in that it was supposed to resemble Gossip Girl style...you were right.

Nylon magazine was quick to point out that many of Sui's looks for Target were very similar to some of the looks that graced her runways previous seasons, dating back to Fall 2006!

This revelation makes me even more disappointed in this collection.

Compare them for yourself from the pictures below.

Anna Sui for Target Lookbook

The looks from Anna Sui's Gossip Girl-inspired collection for Target have finally been revealed!

The collection consists of 19 looks, inspired by the ladies of Gossip Girl: Blair, Serena, Jenny and Vanessa.

The line will be available in stores and online September 13 through October 17.

Personally, I'm not too impressed with the looks, except maybe for some of the "Blair" dresses.

What do you think of the collection?

AA's shiny leggings...for kids

Ever wanted to dress your little sister, your daughter, or even your little cousin in the same clothes you wear?

Yeah, me neither.

But for the few of you who answered yes, now you can dress your mini-me in the American Apparel shiny legging for kids.

The leggings come in the classic AA colours: lamé gold and silver, night fever navy and black and the mauve dots/black.

They look fairly cute, but would you dress your kid in the shiny legging?

My favourite new accessory...

NASTY GAL's zipper bangle.

Love it...especially since it's only $12!

Jimmy Choo for H&M!

H&M never fails to please its loyal customers.

The brand has a announced that it will be collaborating with an accessories brand for the first time, and who better to start off with than Jimmy Choo?

The British accessory brand will bring its international glamour and covetable shoes and bags to select H&M stores this fall. Jimmy Choo will also be including women's clothing to complement the collection, as well as men's shoes, bags, and accessories.

“We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too," said Tamara Mellon, Founder and President of Jimmy Choo in a press statement. "Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!”

“We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection. It’s a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers,” said Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor for H&M.

The collection will be available November 14, 2009 in 200 H&M stores worldwide.

This is a collaboration I will DEFINITELY be lining up for!

Would you wear the scrunchie?

First it was the "assless" tights.

Now, American Apparel, is trying to bring back the scrunchie.

Available in an array of colours and fabrics (think gold lamé, flourescent and nautical scrunchies), the brand has come up with 407 different styles of the eighties hair tie.

I know American Apparel does have the power to bring back trends we'd never thought we'd see again...but the scrunchie? Really?

Whenever I think of a scrunchie, the Sex and the City episode when Carrie yells at Berger for making the protagonist in his book wear a scrunchie always come to mind.

Then there's those flashbacks to when my mom put them in my hair...

If even Carrie won't wear it...then it's something to stay away from!

Would you wear the infamous scrunchie?

The Fendi Abici Amante Donna

Trust Karl Lagerfeld to put fur on a bicycle.

The designer has released a new bicycle for Fendi called the Fendi Abici Amante Donna. It comes in two different versions, and both are available at Saks Fifth Avenue flagship stores.

The first version is covered with leather accessories such as a GPS holder and a detachable bike bag and is selling for $5,900. The second is much pricier at $9,500, due to its removable fur saddlebags on the back tire.

At least it's less expensive than Lagerfeld's Chanel bike that sold for $12,000 last year!

Let's hope whoever buys this bike has a security guard handy to prevent it from being stolen!

Would you wear the "assless" tights?

American Apparel is known for its risqué, barely there clothing. But this time, they've outdone themselves with their new "assless" tights.

The tights are the same pantyhose the brand has been selling for a while, but with the bum cut out!
They're still in production though, so don't expect to see them in stores just yet.

But honestly, what's the point of these tights? How can these possibly be worn in public, with the exception of a strip club?

Would you wear the "assless" tights?

Would you wear a one-piece?

Although the weather is still chilly in Toronto, I've been busy prepping myself for bikini season.

Shopping for bathing suits is one of my least favourite things to do...they never seem to flatter my body, no matter what style I choose, and no matter how much advice I follow from magazines.

Luckily, the one-piece is back in fashion, because it's the only suit that seems to lengthen my small torso!

No, I'm not talking about the Speedo one-pieces your old swimming instructor used to wear, I'm talking about those sexy, cut-out one-pieces that are sure to make heads turn at the beach, as well as give you MAJOR tan lines.

Luckily, my mom has put me in the habit of slathering myself with SPF 60.

Would you wear the one-piece? Or stick to your regular bikini or tankini?

Anna Sui's Gossip Girl-Inspired collection for Target!

At least one good thing is coming out of the recession: plenty of designer collaborations with stores offering affordable price points!

Anna Sui will be the second established designer, after Alexander McQueen, to do a collection for Target under their Designer Collaboration series.

Her inspiration?

The four ladies from Gossip Girl: Blair, Serena, Vanessa and Jenny.

“When I was in Asia last year, all the young girls kept asking me about the different locations in New York City where the characters from ‘Gossip Girl’ live,” Sui told WWD. “By combining the elements of art, city, spirit, punk and glamour, we created a collection that exudes New York City fashion.”

The line will hit stores September 13 and will be available through October 17.

I can't wait to channel my inner Blair!

Alexander Wang collaborating with Gap

Exciting news!

Gap VP of Design, Patrick Robinson revealed to Teen Vogue that Alexander Wang will be designing something special for the line.

"He did this incredible motorcycle jacket in khaki that's going to be under $100. It's coming out on June 16th, so get ready!" said Robinson.

The Gap has previously collaborated with nominees from the CFDA/Vogue fashion fund, where the designers had to put their own spin on the traditional white button down shirt.

Finally! I've been waiting for the Gap to come out with something less preppy and basic, and more fashion forward! I can't wait to see what the jacket looks like!

Matthew Williamson for H&M Menswear preview

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Didn't get what you wanted from the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection last Thursday?

Don't fret! A second shipment will be coming in on May 14th.

But this time, you may want to bring your boyfriend, brother, or gay best friend along with you, because the first menswear line from the collection will also be for sale.

The line is based on what Matthew Williamson would wear himself, which led him to model in the ad campaigns alongside Canadian model, Daria Werbowy.

But beware: the menswear line is not for the shy. It features rainbow-coloured speedos, floral patterned dress shirts, hot pink pants, and more.

There are definitely some wearable items though, especially the leather jacket.

I may have to buy it for my boyfriend...but only if he'll let me borrow it.

Check out the Matthew Williamson for H&M menswear line below, including the photos of the designer!

Lindsay's 6126 collection launches online

Operation "get my career back into shape" is in action for Lindsay Lohan.

The website for the actress/singer/entrepreneur/frequent tabloid target's 6126 leggings collection has finally launched.

The line is inspired by Lohan's icon, Marilyn Monroe (the above "Crystal" style is described as "glittering enough to wear for a 'Happy Birthday, Mr. President' performance…) and Lohan's love for leggings.

The various styles range from $60-$132.

To view the 6126 collection, click here.

But in all honesty, would you really buy a pair of $132 leggings from Lindsay Lohan?

Matthew Williamson for H&M in stores tomorrow!

Image via femalefirst.co.uk

It may be exam time for we university kids, but I don't think that'll stop the fashionistas from lining up bright and early tomorrow morning to score something from Matthew Williamson's capsule collection for H&M.

I passed by the store today, and a few of the items in the display window caught my eye:

Silk mix dress - $149, Leather belt - $59.90

Silk dress - $199, Leather jacket - $249

Sequin dress - $249

Not exactly student budget friendly, but I may have to cut into my savings for some of these looks!

And, if you don't manage to get what you want tomorrow, don't fret! A second shipment will be sent to the store for May 14.

Happy shopping!
